Logu is serving for Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology since 1999. During his tenure as Senior Scientist and Scientist in IICPT, he conducted research in areas related to management of stored product insects in grain storage. He has developed technologies for controlling psocids in grain storage. He had also developed methods for thermal disinfestation of paddy using solar energy. He has widely published his research findings in national and international journals and conferences.

Logu obtained his Doctorate degree from Agricultural Entomology in 1999. For his Doctoral dissertation he worked on “Evaluation of Bacillus thuriengensis for the management of lepidopteran pests in chickpea and cauliflower. He had also worked on Evaluation of sex pheromones for the management of Helicoverpa armigera in cotton for his master’s dissertation.

He was a Visiting Researcher at University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada for six months from May 2010 to October 2010. During that time he worked on “Effect low and high temperatures on Callasobruchus maculatus in chickpea. He is also experienced in thermal disinfestation of flour mills. He has trained for GMP, HACCP and Internal Auditing by Manitoba Food safety Knowledge Centre, Winnipeg, Canada.

He has visited University of Queensland, Australia for the workshop in the project on “Ensuring  Food Security: Harnessing Science to Protect Our Grain Harvest from Insect Threat” during 2010 and 2012. He also conducts many outreach programmes, seminars and workshops at many places across the country to popularize food processing values to stakeholders.

He attended and presented a paper in the 11th International Working Conference on Stored Product Protection (IWCSPP 2014) held at Chiang Mai, Thailand in November 2015. He is also doing the consultancy for the industries to manage the insects in their grain and food product storage.

He guides M.Sc. and M. Phil. students for their project work in the areas related to storage Entomology.
